comparing sites

As I continue to find new and interesting things on my website of noodle tools I also decided to look at other sites that are similiar to noodletools. When googling for other sites these were the ones that came up and I thought it was interesting to compare them and see what everyone thought of them. One that I am most familiar with is EasyBib. This site advertises the fact that they do the citations automatically for you, which seems to be very attractive to many students who do not have a good understanding of how to correctly cite sources. However this is a good example of how teachers make think that their students have learned this skill but really are just plugging in information. Noodletools seems to be a site that is much more beneficial in the sense that the task is not just completed but the student learns how to correctly do it. Here are the links to the other sites if anyone is interested in taking a look.

  1. Lindsay--Like brought up early I think it is important for students to know how to do citations instead of just plugging different parts into a formula and then hitting submit. It would be interesting to see if something like noodletools could setup some systems for teachers to see if there students signed in to this site (if it was a requirement to do a citation page) and what their results were as they created their citations. --Just a thought

  3. another great video! This makes it really easy to understand what needs to be done while on this website. Something that crossed my mind however when watching this video was that, can noodle tools do in text citations? or are they just strictly bibliographies? Something that just occurred to me while watching this video, but hope to research the answer.
